How big is your headspace/internal world? What's it like? it's different for everyone but I wonder if there's anyone else with a similar headspace to mine!

@blokkablokka my music is mostly contained in the few devices we have access to (a couple of cellphones, the TV, a shrunken down until portable record player, and a few mp3 players) but some of the alters can play music like they are the speaker. Or if they gwu a song stuck in their head and think it too loudly others can hear it, but in that specific case its usually not the song the way it's played, it's just the alter singing it and occasionally some of the instrumental background.

My headspace is all over the place. I often have full conversations with imaginary versions of friends inside my head, sometimes we go to the creek. There is almost always some kind of music going on, it could be a verse from a song, elevator music, or the nutcracker, I have little control over my brain radio.

mine seems large but I cant quite grasp the size! So far I've found many of the NPCs, including animals, are fragmented alters but I dont have very many places for NPCs lol

My head space is large. I think it’s attributed to the the fact that I would often escape into the world when I was younger to get away from what was going on in my life so it became massive. But it’s got npcs and countries and other layers to the world. So mine is personally very large.

I feel like mine is weird or maybe boring compared to some others.... I've met systems that claim that they've had like... a full two story house in headspace, and even someone who said they had an amusement park in their headspace. I'll admit I don't fully wrap my head around those sort of intricate headspaces! But I think that's probably because our headspace isn't really even that detailed of a Place... for us it just feels like a void. Sounds depressing but it's really not LOL, our headspace is just our own mind and it's hard for us to attribute a solid, set in stone physical appearance to that since "the mind" is already so abstract. Some of us like to imagine a comfortable room they "stay in" when they're not in front, or some other "happy place" like that, but we've never established any sort of set-in-stone locations like a lot of other headspaces we've heard of. And mostly we're okay with that!

@Luxxy my front room is a void like that! But theres a doorway (always been there) and a rotating doorway (renovation) that lead into a more complex head space which features a small cabin we all live in or on and an extensive forest. It seems our dormant alters are lost in the woods and our dead ones are trapped in a cemetery located somewhere unknown in the woods but outside.of its potential size and how confusing navigating it can get it doesnt seem very complex

One user describes their headspace as a place where they struggle to see anything initially, but over time they have gotten better at interacting with each other in the headspace. They can mentally visualize with other senses, like "feeling" the touch of other alters, and they can "feel" where their bodies are and how they're moving in the headspace. Another user describes their inner world as if they were in a room with a giant screen in front of them: The view they get on that screen is what they see on the outside world through their eyes. Yet another user mentions that their inner world has no concrete layout, if someone wants to be somewhere, they just will be there.
