@Country_FLMama thatās something I would say I did not learn growing up to acknowledge my negative emotions because growing up I had to be sure I donāt express them since I was not at a place to do that . Now I am practicing to do that .

I don't think it's as much managing the negative emotions as it is accepting them..allowing yourself to feel them... Finding the root...and working on healing that area... That's what's working for me... Allowing myself to flow through the feelings instead of trying to stop them.was a very helpful step for me.

Okay so Iām like this as well. For example.. Iām trying to plan Christmas for my own family so it can be easier on my 73 y/o mother. My brothers do NOT HAVE the capacity to be empathic. It can be heartbreaking. So to your question, I think itās good to be empathic, but just be sure to set your own boundaries whatever they may be. You have to protect yourself!! Good luck love š š

@Shad80 "The term empath comes from empathy, which isĀ the ability to understand the experiences and feelings of others outside of your own perspective. (It mean you can feel your emotions and other's emotions, very strongly or well. It is different than just being sympathetic.) Say your friend just lost their dog of 15 years. Empathy is what allows you to understand the level of pain she's going through, even if you've never lost a beloved pet."
