Hi! I was recently diagnosed with EDS. After having the symptoms and everything explained to me, I realized I’ve experienced these symptoms my entire life, but they didn’t seem to get really bad until after I got sick with covid. Has anyone had their symptoms/pain/fatigue worsen after a bad viral infection? My specialist said that’s possible but I’m still curious…

Yes, I got a bad viral food poisoning and then lived in mold unknowingly and developed MCAS. The inflammation from both did something to seriously worsen my hEDS. When my mast cells/gi inflammation is controlled, I have way less join laxity and pain.

My symptoms got worse after having Epstein Barr Virus. (Also EDS.) It's been several years, like at least a decade, and it's flared up and down through time. Like you, I've had symptoms my whole life but they got worse after EBV.
