Struggling with Illness and EDS Pain

Tonight I am in so so so much pain. I’ve caught the cold that’s been going around ever since my brother brought it home. It might be the flu cuz it’s pretty nasty but either way. Can EDS make getting sick just like…a lot worse?? Cuz I’ve felt like this before but I wasn’t sick the other times. Idk like rn I have cold and glue symptoms: Swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, coughing, runny noise, heavy head, achey ears cuz of congestion, the whole shabang. But, I’m also feeling this deep burning pain in my back, shoulder, wrists, arms, fingers..everywhere basically and it kinda jumps around but the spaces it hurts most don’t falter. On top of that, literally, my skin feels hyper sensitive..my clothes and gentle touches feel like needles just barely brushing against my skin in a way where it doesn’t hurt but it doesn’t feel nice. I can’t tell if I just have the flu or if the underlying conditions are just making it worse. Either way I can’t sleep and the only relief I have is sleep and it sucks a whole lot

I would go to urgent care or even a walk in clinic and do a flu and covid test. Definitely sounds like a bad infection but some of the symptoms don’t line up with a cold or even flu - of course everyone’s symptoms vary. Best to catch it earlier; if you’re still in first days of symptoms you can likely start an antiviral treatment

I don't have EDS so take my opinion with a grain of salt. But the skin sensitivity in particular sounds like how it felt when I had COVID. I was weirdly sensitive to so many things. Like I normally have sensory issues but it felt like electricity in my skin. Or like everything had tiny needles on it. And the same other symptoms that you described too. I also had weird cramps in my arms that somehow gave me long lasting damage to my right shoulder. Its been a year and it seems to be finally healing but it was randomly in pain a lot through the last year. It just kinda felt achy at first but got worse as I got sicker. Again, could be something to do with EDS. Or it's the flu. But it just sounds eerily similar to when I had covid
