My doctor won’t listen to me and is ignoring the hospital too, I have SLE and have recently had concerning signs of kidney involvement such as swollen feet with pitting edema, loss of appetite, increased fatigue, increased thirst, urinary issues, dry skin etc and I’ve been waiting over a week for the doctors to do any tests they’ve been so slow and then in my urine test which is the only result I’ve had back so far they found blood and protein, but have now ordered tests for infection instead of the tests they should be running to look for kidney issues caused by lupus! A rheumatologist who isn’t even mine saw my record and was concerned and has asked me to come into the hospital tomorrow for more tests, it’s just horrible being ignored while I might be having serious damage to my kidneys and suffering in pain too feeling awful, I’m worried about the tests not showing enough as I’m young at 19 and the averages for kidney issues have been made from statistics of older people as young people don’t usually have kidney problems, my last tests months ago that they said were fine and healthy say I have the kidneys of a 40 year old. It’s just awful struggling and not getting help I’m praying this rheumatologist sticks with me and helps me and sees things the others have been ignoring. I’m scared and I’m tired and I’m sad.

I understand that you're going through a difficult time with your health and it's frustrating when doctors don't seem to be taking your concerns seriously. It's good that a rheumatologist has taken notice of your situation and is asking you to come in for more tests. Hopefully, they will be able to provide the help and answers you need. Remember to advocate for yourself and communicate your concerns clearly with the medical professionals you encounter.
