so I'm starting to realize i probably have ocd. and I was wondering if I could get some input on if it actually sounds like it or not? so it's simple little things that I realized lately that's like hm... probably not a non ocd thing like my silverware have to be in a specific order in the tray holder I seriously freak out when something dirty touches something clean and I'm very particular about the way my desk is organized at home and if someone moves it I get so mad. the biggest thing that hit me was my obsession with levels of clean I feel like if I were to clean the left half of a counter one day and then go clean the other half the next day the whole counter is still dirty even though I just cleaned the left half yesterday and I'll end up just cleaning the entire thing again is this actually an ocd thing or something else?

Hi there! I have severe clinical OCD. As a child I had so many rituals that crippled me on a daily basis. I understand the frustration. I would think things like, if I sat on the left side of the couch something bad would happen, but if I sat on the right side everything would be ok. I also counted everything and had to touch things a certain amount of times before I could walk away. I have matured emotionally over the years as I grew up and now better understand and can better control the urge to preform these rituals. As an adult, my rituals are waaay less and you wouldn't even be able to tell that I was doing them. Stress definitely brings out the OCD and makes it much much worse. From what you have described, it definitely sounds like you could have a mild form of OCD, but it could also just be that you like things done a certain way. If it bothers you enough that you are questioning wether or not you could have a clinical issue, then definitely look into setting up an appointment with a mental health professional. Treatment can do wonders!! Hope this helps. Good luck! š¤

By definition OCD is compulsion based. As in you have obsessive thoughts (you must do this or this will happen? and then the compulsion to get rid of the intrusive thought
@gymdog I do get a bit obsessive like if I were to ignore the silverware I would be thinking about it for hours and it would like very much so upset me
