Has anyone else’s DID affected their relationship? I can’t imagine the whirlwind that our support system goes through but I don’t know how to best support them while they support us.

I'll say for some friendships, telling the person I had DID was an immediate negative response from the friend. So much so that I lost the friend and several others directly after telling them as they didn't believe the disorder was real. For my girlfriend though I simply told her and that she could ask me any question she could think of. She asked a lot of questions at first, but overtime she got used to it and became friends with my alters. I think for us it was really important that I let her know she could ask literally anything and that I wouldn't be upset if she asked 'the wrong thing's. The other half was just time and her getting used to it. Not everyone can be that kind of support, but keeping up open communication with your partner is always a good idea

Absolutely, and this goes for both dating singlets as well as other systems. Nothing worse than loving your partner a lot but they either only front when you don’t or they end up going dormant,,

Yeah, it has. It takes a very understanding partner(s) to make it work!
