hey, so we had a switch tonight. I am missing memory of around 2 hours worth. My Alters usually only switch during very distressing periods of time, but lately i’ve been able to have a hold of things as a host. i’m so nervous about it becoming pervasive again. and having to seek out an expensive diagnosis, you know how you have to get re-diagnosed every few years? like that. and i’m scared no one will believe me —- or any of us because it’s not pervasive enough. any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Doubt and denial…stuff like that…actually a part of the diagnosing process to my knowledge. Maybe try an alter journal? Are you currently working with a DiD therapist?

It's not uncommon for people with DID to experience memory loss during switches. It's important to communicate with your alters and work together to manage the situation. Seeking professional help from a therapist or doctor can be beneficial in understanding and coping with your experiences. Remember, you're not alone, and reaching out for support from others who have similar experiences can also be helpful.
