Struggling with Severe Depression: Seeking Advice

It’s really hard. I highly suggest daily affirmations. It sounds stupid but it really helps me.

Hey friend, I wish a had a good answer for you. I'm clawing my way out of a bad depressive episode as we speak. I've been dealing with it for more than a decade. What's been really helpful for me: a good therapist, a good psychiatrist, switching to Wellbutrin, support from friends, eating meals regularly, making time for meditation and introspection. It's definitely not easy but it gets easier the more support you can build into your routine

i'd start an SSRI, and when it had no effects, my psychiatrist would raise the dosage. it would never work, so then he would raise the dosage again, and it wouldn't work again, so i'd start a new one... it was horrible honestly, the only thing they were good for was the side effects. i don't know how i ended up settling on two antidepressants for long term

I am starting a new treatment that’s for people that are resistant to antidepressants it’s a nasal spray that has ketamine in it at a low dose you might want to check and see if you psy dr offers it I start at the end of this month it has to be done in the office twice a week for 8 weeks

Yes my depression had been resistant to most medications. It makes life very difficult and frustrating
