Hello friends, I recently had a mammogram and was told I have dense breast tissue. I'm a bit worried about what this means for my risk of breast cancer. What should I do?Can anyone share their experience?

so like 5 years ago after I had my second kiddo, my doctor told me I had dense breast tissue during a check-up. I was freaking out, but she calmed me down and explained that it just means I need to keep an eye on things. So, I started getting yearly ultrasounds and making sure to do regular self-exams. No biggie! Just being proactive, you know?

Hi there! It's totally understandable that you're feeling concerned after being told you have dense breast tissue. While it's natural to worry, it's important to remember that having dense breasts doesn't automatically mean you'll develop breast cancer.

dearie ,I had dense breast tissue too, and it was a factor in my breast cancer diagnosis. But here's the thing: I wish I had known about it sooner! My doctor told me 3D mammography is good for early detection. And another thing is , please get familiar with your breasts and keep an eye out for any changes. Stay strong and take it easy!

The person in the context mentioned that they have dense breast tissue and had a lump in their breast. They got a mammogram and ultrasound scheduled, and it turned out to be a cyst. Their primary care provider told them that if the lump doesn't hurt, and can move as it's palpated, it's most likely a cyst. If it hurts and doesn't move, they should get checked out as soon as possible.
