tw: ra*e... but no details . . . . I have PTSD from three different traumas, but the biggest one was a rape that happened 6 years ago this month. April is always hard for me. I try to forget, but the "anniversary" month of my rape happen to be the same month as Sexual Assault Awareness month. How do you deal with anniversaries of trauma?

      I try to balance noting the Thing and burying/distracting from it. It gets easier with practice. I give myself a lot of space for care moments, and grab a few friends who I can rely on to vent to. And my therapist is crucial at these times! (My personal go to distraction meal is crab legs, because I find them delicious and I get to fight my food.)
