I’m currently on a “break” from my relationship with my former fiancée and partner of 10+ yrs at the time we started taking a break, after he violated my trust in a really serious way (not cheating, or cheating related—it’s complicated and hard for me to talk about). We still text almost every day, and we’ve talked about wanting to try to fix things…. But I’m not sure if we’ll be able to. I miss him, and our relationship, but I’m also still sad and angry. The whole thing just really feeds my anxiety and depression, and sometimes it’s really hard to keep going. Anyone relate? Anyone else feeling lost, hopeless, lonely?

I had a situation like this and I made space for myself by exercising, doing things that would bring joy by myself and reiterating that I am great, that I am beautiful, I am worthy of "feeling myself " and being confident. It made the return to the relationship better because I knew my self worth and told my partner that they needed to see that and that I love them. That was a few years ago and my partner and I are still together and happy. Your journey is yours- I'm a health coach so if you ever want to talk I'm here!

Have you gone to couple's therapy? That may be able to help you!

I can relate. A healthy break can be okay but if you both decide to do it, it’s probably not a good sign. You have every right to be anxious about it. Just ask yourself if he’s the one or not!

i feel this !! i had a very difficult time in a past relationship that wasn't cheating related, and even though i wanted to fix things it was extremely hard to move on. i would say to go with your gut. i know it's very hard to work through to certain issues but remember that you come first and your feelings are important !!

@jeed yeah… I’m working hard in therapy, trying to sort out how I feel, and hold space for myself. It’s just all so hard, sometimes, especially because all my friends now live in other parts of the country. My family is nearby, but this is one of those things I just can’t talk to them about 😢
