My paranoia has been really bad the last couple weeks. Like convinced something going to happen to me or someone I care about every day bad. And I don't want to talk to anybody because I don't want to be diagnosed with a paranoid disorder because I feel like people will take my anxiety less seriously.

I recently had nightmares that someone would break in and seriously harm me, thankfully they stopped

I have hit those states a few times. I definitely think you should see a psychiatrist. Iā€™d recommend getting diagnosed and put on medications. When youā€™re in those states itā€™s hard for things like therapy alone to work I feel like you really need some extra help to get a grasp on reality. They wonā€™t judge you and actually youā€™d be surprised how common these sorts of things are. So many people with anxiety experience similar issues and these doctors hear about it all the time and take it very seriously!

I hope so. The more I think about it, the less scary talking to someone sounds?

I donā€™t think people would take your anxiety less seriously, I think they may get an insight as to why your anxiety is so bad and what triggers it and the thoughts you constantly have. I would definitely talk to a professional because they can help you take your next steps!
