I love the logic of parents who deal with their children having mental illnesses. ADHD and depression, plus dissociating on top of it. My mom thinks so highly of herself as the only one in the family who is always sensitive to my issues, but as soon as my executive disfunction is inconvenient to her she calls me a child. "Stop acting like a child" and "I shouldn't have to treat you like a child" thus revealing that if I don't do what they want, on their time, I'm a useless baby. They truly do not understand what it's actually like to have all this going on in your head all the time. Every waking moment of the day.

God i completely understand this. As much as everyone I know is "understanding" very few people in my life actually see that I'm genuinely trying even when it looked like absolutely nothing is happening because of the executive disfunction
