Coping with Flashbacks: Tips and Tricks

I tell my husband (he talks me through it) and I keep my gun where I can see it (grabbing a gun isn't for everyone) but until I calm down. I know with everything I have. With absolute and complete certainty. NOTHING will hurt me or my family.

Might not be the healthiest advice, but I distract myself as much as I possibly can. I also recommend looking into getting a weighted blanket, it’s literally my favorite when I have a flashblack. Having the weight wrapped around my shoulders is very comforting, especially when I’m starting to spiral
