I was diagnosed a few months ago after I escaped a highly abusive relationship, how do I cope or process this information? is there specific medication or other treatments?

I recommend a trauma therapist! A psychologist can work with you on medications depending on your needs.

Start doing therapy, or emdr or holistic health or self care- pick something you know is good for you and slowly add more good things- you’re fragile rn and healing is going to trigger you. a LOT! Having a lot of healthy coping mechanisms for when you’re in an episode is a good place to start. What are things that make you feel better when you’re sad? Scared? Lonely? Angry? Hurt? Try to think of things you would do for others when they feel that way, and then do them for yourself instead. What grounds and soothes you? People, places, sounds, smells, foods, music- all of these things can help pull you out of a trigger when you notice yourself “not here anymore.” I have a “panic box” for when I’m in a really bad episode, I can pull activities out of the box to distract and soothe myself until I can reprocess the memory again.

I’m so sorry for your experience, that must have been horrible. I truly feel for you. Do seek help from a trauma therapist^^^ as you’re vulnerable and need someone to treat you with care. surround yourself with people that make you feel safe and now is the time to take care of yourself for once and heal and take your time to process while giving yourself small goals and activities to do. *keep breathing*, you fucking got this. that piece of shit didn’t need you, you’re stronger than this ❤️
