I have recently been diagnosed with C-PTSD after a sexual assault that happened in 2014. how do you cope with it?

I take magnesium to help relax my muscles and make me feel calmer. I have a journal where I write down my most troubling thoughts in their most raw form and then I burn the pages in the sink. I haven't been able to afford a therapist in a while, but I use an app called Finch and it's really cute and helpful. I bought body markers so I can draw and write nice things on myself instead of hurting myself. If my brain fog isn't too bad, I read. If it is too bad, I watch television or movies, especially uplifting cartoons (my favorite is Craig of the Creek). I talk to my friends about how I'm feeling, if nothing else works. I think looking at self care and coping skills lists and trying everything until you find things that really work for you is helpful.

reaching out to people, learning how to take care of myself (self care as nice baths, maybe some chocolate, etc, but also self care as giving myself schedules and doing food prep and things that might not feel “good” in the moment but help me later/overall)
