being very upfront about it can help. just respectfully, but directly saying "hey i don't understand this, can you help me out here?" people try to be polite by avoiding saying what they mean, but as long as you stay calm & respectful it can be much more efficient to just put it out there that you need to work together on communicating with each other.

Whew child I’ve been here, you have to understand them first. Understand how they communicate and really investigate them to understand what they mean when they say and do things. This happened with my boyfriend and I, at first I was frustrated because he’s not used to communicating effectively so I had to really interrogate him and study him to understand what he means when he says or does certain things. That also involved understanding his personality, family, life story, and upbringing. Then once you understand them, you can know how to communicate to them and teach them how to communicate to you. Hope that makes sense.

It might not be that they don't know how to communicate but they haven't found they way they they can communicate. Even something as simple as music or giving them a tablet/computer to type. You game very minimum information but I wish you luck. Everyone tries to communicate in some way understanding it is another thing. I watched this video and they thought this one person had all these issues so on and soo forth but I. Her teens she finally got a tablet and they realized how intelligent she was and how much she knew. How funny she could be and how fun she was. In some aspect I hope this helps or give some hope to open up communication. Also sometimes maybe an ultimatum might be the answer. Communication is the basis to any relationship with family, friends, or a significant other... GOOD LUCK 💕

Do you know what they like to do? Their favorite hobbies? Sports? Movies? TV shows? I once dated a guy with bad PTSD and he liked to play video games. We would have the best time playing together and that got him to talk.

going through the same thing right now… honestly.. i don’t think you can. it has to be up to them only to decide to communicate.
