I need to get other people's perspectives on this because I'm in so much pain and I have no idea how to handle it because I don't know everything that could be contributing to it. Obviously having fibromyalgia in the first place means I'm gonna have pain and extreme muscle tension. But I also strongly believe other things are contributing to it too. I'm very very stressed in my life right now and I don't think that's going to go away for multiple years so there's very little I can do about that right now, and we know that excessive stress does cause muscle tension. On top of that, I'm in this vicious cycle of lack of exercise that I am almost certain is contributing to it too. I don't exercise because I'm in pain, but I'm also in pain because I don't exercise. I don't know how to break that cycle, or if it will even help me if I do. I'm in so much pain every single day and I desperately need relief. Please give me any answers you can

I've found when I'm in severe pain, I lay in bed and exercise. Whatever gives me some relief. Just stretching your body

Cutting out sugar completely and reducing my bread and pasta intake helped me so much with the pain. I was in the same cycle as u, sedentary lifestyle, working wad my only exercise. The pain was almost too much to even work. I changed those few things in my diet and started feeling relief. After a few weeks my son took me to a climbing gym to see if I would like it. I fell in love with climbing ☺ I went once or twice a week and it was so hard to fight past the pain..... But I did it and I've been climbing for a year now 3hr sessions 3 times a week ☺. I also do yoga a few times a week. It's changed my life! Climbing & yoga help keep my muscles stretched and pliable which helps reduce the pain. The only time I have pain now is after a work out session. I have my own rituals for the after session pain and by the morning, no more pain ☺. I highly recommend trying a diet change and maybe some light yoga.... Consistency is key to keeping that pain at bay. I was to a point of hopelessness in my life just a year and a half ago..... So much pain that I I didn't really care if I woke the next day. I felt like that was the only alternative to relieve the pain. It's not! There are many things that u can try, and I encourage u to try them and get ur life back ☺. Good luck! ♥

Heyyy so for the exercise part it does have to be an extreme form of exercising.. start with walking.. choose a distant and walk that distant for a while.. after a while go a little farther and do that for a while and then go farther.. etc you can also do light yoga stretches

Stress management is a good place to start! Unfortunately, sometimes stress is part of life. Can you get time to yourself, even if its only a short period of time? What has helped me is being out in nature, just a walk outside and really observe your surroundings. Ten to fifteen minutes a day to start. This will help you sleep better as lack of sleep makes pain worse. Hope this helps.

@Mooey yes, thank you, I do try and stay active, but I also have fibromyalgia

@zarmina I also have fibromyalgia along with osteoarthritis, bilateral knee replacements, ankle surgery for a partially ruptured tendon and other joint surgeries with metal implants. I have driven and parked at a wildlife refuge to watch migrating birds. I cant walk very far but put me in a stable with horses and my discomfort fades even briefly.
