Does anyone have advice to get doctors to actually listen to your concerns and give you tools to help with chronic pain? All I get is you need to work out to help manage the pain. When I do work out I do feel better but I have no time to do any of that due to school. Nobody wants to understand my concerns because i’m young, there’s only so much working out can do for my chronic pain.

-Ask for a referral to a rheumatologist or another specialist. -depending on your insurance, maybe you can ask about referrals to physical therapy, acupuncture, or chiropractic care. -When they dismiss you, insist that they document in their report that they made no action. -Bring someone else to the appointment with you, unfortunately doctors still seem to take men much more seriously. -maybe start a journal with pain levels, diet, exercise to show that you’re diligent but you still need more help If all fails, find a new doctor. It’s a tough road, hang in there!
