Frustrated with Doctors' Lack of Help

Everytime I’m in pain I just think about how mad I am at the doctors who tell me they can’t do anything for me. I know most of the time they’re only trying their best but come on you know? They sit there and tell me that my pain is not real or that it’s in my head when I know it’s not. They don’t listen to me because I’m younger and it doesn’t help that I’m a woman and I just don’t understand how they expect us to just “deal with it”

If this has been going on 6+ months don't give up until you get a diagnosis! Don't rely on doctors to be interested and actively look for answers. I do my own research so I know what I need to bring up, how to organize that information, and know which tests I can reasonably request

I’ve had similar experiences to you. I started having chronic chest pain a few years ago and I was told that I just had a low pain tolerance which I know is not true. I ended up going to at least 8 different doctors before I went to a pain specialist and they were very surprised to see me bc I was so much younger than the rest of their patients
