Do I get high heart rate and nausea first and then panic cause I feel sick, or do I panic and then my heart rate goes up and I feel nauseous? this is the constant argument I'm having with my doctors. My personal feeling is "it's probably a bit of both" why do no doctors believe POTS exists

@sloth4lyfe yeah I got a tilt table test and had the tachycardia but he said because my BP didn't really drop that it's not...a tachycardia syndrome? So I'm real confused, I thought the whole point of the body doing the tachycardia was to keep BP okay

I just went to a cardiologist for the first time yesterday & he diagnosed me with this based on my symptoms which are very similar to yours!! I think my panic is brought on by the physiological symptoms I’m experiencing so suddenly (nausea, sweating, high heart rate). It’s the fact that it’s happening so suddenly & even though it’s happened a bunch of times, it’s still panic-inducing because it’s not supposed to be normal! I was on one medicine for my familial/genetic hypertension & personally I felt like it lowered my blood pressure too much at 10mg but 5mg wasn’t enough. So this new doctor I saw yesterday prescribed diltiazem for my blood pressure (instead of my amlodipine) & it’s supposed to also lower my heart rate. But that was yesterday so who knows what the future holds! Hopefully it works! I hope you find something to ease your symptoms!!

      I question this every day.
