does anyone else have friends who used to dismiss all your mental health problems when you were younger so now just the thought of reaching out for help fills you with immense anxiety?

Yes I can relate. My dad would always refer to people with mental illnesses as "freaks" and would tell me I just need to "sleep it off" or "you have more important things to worry about" whenever I shared how i felt.

definitely lol. I’m known as the “unstable” friend because of my health issues, anxiety, and poor choice of significant others. it’s hard a lot of the time, but my mom and new boyfriend help me out.

One user mentioned that their best friend cut them off 5 years ago because they talked about their problems too much, which has made it difficult for them to talk about their issues now. They fear ruining the good mood, affecting others' mental health, and being left again.
