If you don't mind me asking, is there a reason why you're not taking medication? I was off medication for a long time and ended up getting a lot worse. Once I got on meds and found the right one, I've stayed on it for 7 years and was able to put my life back together again. I don't think it's impossible if they are more cognitive-based things, but if you feel there's a biological component that you can't control, you might want to at least consult with a professional just to see what your options are. Besides that, I HIGHLY suggest DBT or CBT. Personally DBT has worked the best for me in learning how to control my body when feeling strong emotion, panic, or distress. It also helps working through negative thoughts and self esteem, but for me the first thing and the most important thing to get under control were my violent mood swings and depressive/anxious tendencies, and by far DBT has done the best for me.
@DX DBT has also been incredibly helpful for me
Therapy. The right therapist and the right approach can help a lot.
herbal supplements may be your best bet, but research everything very thoroughly because there's some stuff you may not be able to take if you're breastfeeding or if you take other medications. I'm guessing you don't have meds because you can't see a doctor, but if you can, ask them what supplement brands they may recommend or if there are safer/cheaper medication options for you. bipolar disorder is really hard to manage on your own, but if you have a good emotional support system it'll be a lot easier to treat the symptoms as they appear. you HAVE to trust the people around you though, because you may have an episode and not realize it, but anyone who lives with you will pick up on it. the best thing you can do no matter what route you take medically is to let people help you
Have you tried CBD?
