Being Bullied for My Clothes

I would usually just try and ignore it when people call me names and make fun of me. They only do it to make themselves feel better and most of the time they will eventually move on and target someone else.

I went through that too because I wore One Direction shirts and to be honest, I would laugh it off and move on. Because if I didn’t give a big reaction, it meant that they didn’t hurt me and I could carry on with my day. I also got compliments too from people that liked the band too and it was a conversation started! If you are wearing something that could be a little silly, own it! Have an awareness that you look unique, there will be comments (not your fault) and mentally prepare yourself for the fact that you look how you want to look and that’s all that matters. Fashion is such a fickle thing too, who knows it could be a trend at some point. If someone says your Pom Pom socks are stupid, then you can say something like “you won’t be saying that when it’s cold and you want me to make you a pair!” Then you’ve called them out for being rude in a way that’s not too standoffish, made it clear that they haven’t changed your mind on your socks, and created a bridge to a more positive conversation about your hobbies.

❤️ try to kill them with kindness even though it's just words,make it like a shield so nothing negative gets to you,and just say thank you and smile..they're the insecure ones..who don't like themselves. Took me a while to understand that..good luck
