Today I'm laying in bed and staying safe needs to be enough. I wish I had the ability to overcome these episodes and be stable all the time, but it's not looking like that's possible. Do I need to settle for good enough and realize this is better and stop expecting perfection? or is there a perfect medication or there I haven't tried yet?

I agree that there's no perfect. If you do feel your meds aren't working well enough, you can request gene site testing to see what medication would be better for you based off your DNA. Everyone has good and bad days. Just continue to be aware of your needs and take care of yourself. Also, cognitive behavioral therapy has helped me with those days when I just can't function normally and find myself curled up in bed. Maybe it could help you? Feel better and don't worry. You are strong. You haven't given up. And that's a victory you should be proud of.

Thanks everyone. Sometimes it's hard to remember how far I've come and that I'm doing alright.

Perfect is a myth. I'm on a wonderful medication, and still have days where I struggle. If staying in bed makes you feel safe, then improve the space. If you can work from home, you can work from bed. Just about anything can be done from bed. But perfection is a myth. Even my friend who don't suffer from depression have terrible days. Don't hold yourself to impossible standards. It's totally okay to bed your safe space, and I applaud you for knowing that you do, and where it is. That's fantastic.

It's ok to have your bad days, weeks or even months. I'm glad you're feeling safe, rather than struggling to force yourself out of your safe space when you're not ready, try improve your safe space to where you don't feel guilty about being there. Whether this be through having books to read, hobbies to work on, work you can do either on paper, your phone or laptop. Just remember, it's ok to need your safe place. Keep being you, you're doing great ❤️
