Recently discovering my ASD at 30… got me thinking… there are studies of ASD patients to see how many have HSD… but why not reversed? Here’s what I’m thinking… back-in-the-day we assumed autism was also very “visible”… what if hypermobile disorders are just how some of us present our physical traits? Wondering how many HSD individuals are actually undiagnosed high-masking ASDers? Anyone else relate? 🤔

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I'd be interested in seeing that. I was also late diagnosed with both EDS and ASD.

One user mentioned that they read autistic individuals have a higher likelihood of having hEDS (hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). Some users in the discussion suspect they might have hEDS and are seeking more information about it. It is possible that some HSD individuals could be undiagnosed high-masking ASDers, but further research and professional evaluation would be needed to confirm this hypothesis.
