I've struggled with anemia since I was around 14. Around 8 months ago I convinced my doctor to do something other than say it was my period (I struggled with anemia even while on birth control, so that wasn't it). She agreed to do 4 stool samples that she was convinced would all come back fine. There was blood in all 4. I was supposed to go to a GI specialist, but I haven't yet. Work has slown down, so now's a good time to do it. I've been struggling with this for years. I'm scared to make the appointment. I'm scared of what I'll find. Is there anything I should know about before the appointment? Are there any specific questions I should ask my doctor? Should any specific test or procedure be done? I'm kinda scared.
