I find it simpler to advocate for others than for myself

      A bit of both for me. I'll stand up for someone else (depends on the situation and my relationship to the person or if we have similar medical issues or not), but if you get on my bad side I'll cause a big enough scene that they'll have wished they hadn't met me. But I also cause those scenes so someone else will hopefully get treated with respect. Most of the time it's just sending emails and calling managers rather than screaming in a public place. Doctors who have said or done something inappropriate, retail assistants who have denied me access because of my disabilities, bus drivers who have mistreated me have all been given extensive disability training and/or been suspicious or lost their jobs because of my complaints

      Yep. When someone I care about needs someone to stand up for them I'll do it no questions asked. For myself? I don't say a thing.

      Most definitely and I have suffered for it because I ignored my own needs in the process.

      Myself I am sure and confident. I don't always have confidence in what I know about others. Every one is different.

        @BJSTREEHOUSE that's very true

      I have always been a person that takes care of others.

      I can speak up for others, but I find that speaking up for oneself takes more self-confidence than most of us have.
