Hi there! This is new to me, but I'm hopeful that there are others out there that may have a similar issue. During a bone marrow draw for another condition, they discovered an anomaly that is really stupid rare. That mixed with my childhood history of excessive strep infections, Scarlet Fever (twice), Rheumatic Fever, and pericarditis has left me with tachycardia since 14 years old, with abnormally high PVCs and PACs along with episodic A-fib. All of that was decently managed with medications for my early adult life. As I have aged, that bone marrow anomaly has kicked in and my triglycerides run in the thousands. I have a full set of 5 stents from the several heart attacks that began in 2013, and have had 2 of those stents re-stented when they occluded a second time. Thanks to Repatha, my triglycerides are at healthy levels, and my artery congestion has improved. Now though, my rhythm is out of control. I had an arterial ablation 2 years ago, and the A-fib has basically resolved, but that wasn't the goal when I went to the cath lab. I am in bigeminy all the time. all day every day. Sometimes I get to experience a run of V-tach. I have a prolonged QT, and they just keep throwing meds at it. Now we are heading towards the idea of ablating the SA node and putting in a pacemaker. I am excited for that if I'm honest. The bigeminy kicks my ass. Some days the tightness in my chest with the constant donkey kicks in my chest with the shortness of breath render me useless. It makes me feel lazy and stupid, but if I try to push through anyhow, I need nitro. Does anyone out there relate to this? Has anyone had a pacemaker placed for this circumstance? Did it improve things?
