About 2 months ago went to the Er with abdominal pain that I was pretty sure felt was crohns pain. Er confirmed by ct scan and put me on prednisone and recommended me follow up with gi team. I did. A week after I followed up with them, I got a portal message suggesting that I take my care to a more specialized office and that I fall out of their realm. Needless to say I was shocked. But I agreed. Then today I got another saying that my referral was sent to the referral team at the big hospital and how would I like to be put on pentasa or something similar for the active inflammation that the ct found until the referral goes thru and I become active with the other office. I also agreed... but I was even more shocked. I feel very floored. But honestly if the Pentasa can control or start to control the active inflammation in the colon that I've never had before then maybe it's worth it? it's a definite struggle. Has Pentasa helped others?
