Any parents with Fibro? It’s so hard to carry my son! He’s 8m old so no choice but to carry him and I can’t carry him very long which just makes me feel like a bad parent.

Me. I have an 8 year old daughter.... I think she thinks I'm lazy...or making excuses, sometimes. She has never said it.... I just feel it. I can't do much at all some days...it is horrible. I think education is key. I am going to share some things about fibro with her, so she will understand a little better.

My moms advice is “it’s hard and horrible to not be able to hold a baby for long” her suggestion was maybe get a little wagon to pull him along in the house. My mom was diagnosed when I was tiny and through the years we’ve just made it work. It ended up that physical contact is something hard for me to take with my sensory issues and hard for her to give with her fibromyalgia so we’re kinda a matched set at this point! I can’t remember her not being able to hold me and carry me, I just remember being loved and read to and cared for. It’ll all turn out okay I promise

I haven't had kids yet and this is something I'm so scared about. Great advice though, I like it. Use your hips a lot? Take lots of breaks? I'm sure you already do those though

I'm a parent with Fibro. You're not a bad parent, do what you can he will love you for it and he will never remember that you couldn't carry him very long. ((Hugs)) 😊
