So, I’ve had this cold lingering for about two weeks, and between that and a pharmacy issue leaving me without meds for several days, and a bunch of family and life stressors, I’ve been having an extremely, extremely difficult month for mental health. My depression and anxiety are just crushing a lot of the time, and combined with my usual lack of executive function, I’m struggling to do even the most basic tasks. I’m a work from home freelancer and I can’t afford to fall any farther behind on my work, nor can I keep ignoring cleaning tasks that are piling up, but no matter how many reminders I set, it feels impossible to break through almost all the time, and I don’t know what to do. I’m working on finding a new psychiatrist, and trying to find a new stimulant, since the shortage has meant I can’t get adderall for months, but I don’t know if or when those things will work out. How do you get things done when you feel like you’re drowning? How do you get started, especially on the big, important, and/or dreaded tasks? Should note: I live with people, but my access to meaningful daily help or support is very, very limited right now.
