I have these moments where all the sudden I just feel like I don’t know who my girlfriend is and she’s just a stranger and like I’m in a strangers house even tho simultaneously I am rationally aware all those things are irrational but I can’t stop feeling that way and I usually end up having a panic attack. I don’t really know what it is and it’s really concerning and just like super upsetting

I have this thing too. Though imposter syndrome is when you feel it with yourself, not others. I have capgras syndrome which makes me think that somebody is not who they are. It can happen with inanimate objects, people, and animals. Its really scary and confusing since its not heavily researched. If you ever need to talk about it feels free to reach out.

Im no doctor, but this sounds like you could be experiencing symptoms of imposter syndrome. I highly suggest you look into that, or talk about it with a doctor.

Have you explored dissociative disorders? This is a common symptom of complex dissociation. It sounds really upsetting, I hope you find answers soon 💜

@Finleaf that is something I’ve been exploring a little bit because I do absolutely have other symptoms that fall under disassociate disorders. That’s interesting that it could be connected and that honestly would make a lot of sense. Thank you so much that’s really helpful

@PlatoLogic12 definitely would be connected if you do! It's one of the first symptoms my friend told me about before we worked out she had DID, your post reminded me of a conversation with her. Wish you luck and strength, I'm glad I could help!

This happens to me too. I've never understood it. If you figure out what it is, please tell me. It 's kind of scary when it happens.
