On June 21st , 2021 I was diagnosed with PTSD and Complex Dissociative Identity Disorder. I am still struggling with that diagnosis. I still think I’m faking it. Denial is really bad right now…
I am still very guilty of believing I'm faking every day, but here's a few strategies to help:
• different members make an 'about me' page. Could be on paper or just in the notes of your phone; wherever's convenient. Whenever you feel like you're faking you can flip through the different pages and recognize the individuality.
• Ask yourself why you would fake all the pain and struggles that others can't see? Would you still fake it when you're by yourself (in a place alone, away from others in the outer world)?
Imposter syndrome (believing you're faking) is very common for PTSD as well as DID. Other systems are here to support you! :]
