Does anyone have advice on how to cope with brain damage? I can't afford a brain scan, but I have much speculation after years of different psychiatric drugs, on top of having COVID (50% of people infected have minor brain damage/inflammation). And I have a lot of trouble with focusing, motivation and feeling positive emotions, it's even worse than before I started treatment years ago, but I don't want to ever be on psychiatric drugs again...help?!

I might be open to neurological treatments/medications related to neurogenesis (though I know there aren't many) my concern with seeing a neurologist is that I am relatively young and I am on Medicaid, I would have to get a referral from my doctor which I feel like they wouldn't do because of my age. The neurological symptoms I have are memory issues (short and long, noticed by friends and family), chronic fatigue, and daily headaches, do you think they would refer me based on these symptoms ?

I’d recommend getting a neurologist if you’re worried about your brain function. Most of their treatments are pharmaceutical, but they affect the brain differently than psychiatric drugs. I have had more rapid success with neurological treatments as opposed to psychiatric medications that take months to work. But! Since you’re avoiding drugs, I highly highly recommend cranial-sacral physiotherapy. It’s a kind of physical therapy that’s hands on! It’s gently touching places on your skull, relieving pressure built up from cerebral-spinal fluid that has collected in little pockets in the brain. It reroutes the fluid back to the spine and improves brain function. It helps relieve brain fog, muscle tension, discomfort, headaches, fatigue and more!
