I try to use mindfulness that it's not real. DBT skills are great but I understand that when it's there it seems more than real. I've gotten to the point with therapy that instead of it seeming like it's happening again, it is more like a disassociative movie scene playing in my head. If I'm in Public ill remove myself to the best of my ability so I can ground myself before the outward physical symptoms start. Sometimes there is forewarning and sometimes there isn't.

I got noise cancelling headphones and played emdr self administered audio tones and allow the flashbacks to play through while listening. Then I listen to binaural beats for higher vibrations for a few min after. It sounds woo-woo but it’s what works for me

it is super hard to deal with flashbacks. grounding myself and reassuring myself that i am safe really helps. i definitely use mindless distractions like video games and youtube/netflix. meditation also really helps me personally

We usually just think more on things that keep us here and make us happy

I cry. I feed myself comfort food and do something to help ease me out.
