My saving grace was essential oils - textures and visual elements never seemed to do the trick, but a strong roll-on essential oil is enough to pull my attention back to my present self. I recommend keeping essential oil with you and giving that a try when you're stuck in a flashback

I get really vivid flashbacks, but often i put my over the ear headphones on and play music and try to stim out the horrible feelings. its helpful to remind yourself that you're not in danger anymore.

I’m currently in CBT for my OCD and PTSD. One thing my therapist told me that has helped me SO much, is holding an ice cube in your hand. It kind of shocks your brain back into reality. It has helped me tremendously

My favorite thing to do is turn on my favorite show. Yes I've seen it 1000 times, but finding comfort in it just really brings me back to reality and knowing I'm safe

When I had an episode like that the best way to bring me back from it was family music might help as well but family really helped me come back to reality rather than reliving that memory
