I have self diagnosed 2 years ago myself with peripheral neuropathy. I do not think I'm diabetic because I do not have any symptoms of diabetes. My doctor chiropractor told me it was because of a major fall and he believes I have very severe pinched nerves in the base of my neck and my lower spine. I'm In moderate Pine Level from what I believe is peripheral neuropathy. Major burning in my hands the tips of my fingers the fingers the bottom of my feet and sometimes my toes prickling pins and needle effects occasionally. A very full feeling in my feet underneath my toes feels like socks are bundled up Under my toes and a little bit of raw feeling on the bottom of my feet. I am currently taking 600 mg gabba panties I am currently taking 600 mg gabba pentin. My question is, I'm I need everyone's opinions of what else I can be doing doing to reverse this agonizing feeling especially in my hands fingers and feet.

Hi Pearlina - i’m so sorry for what you are going through. I have had small fiber peripheral neuropathy for about six years now. I do not take any medication for it because all of the ones that were prescribed me to make me terribly sleepy. What I do that helps the most for me at least is that I try to avoid as much sugar as possible. I do love desserts, so occasionally I will have something but I do notice that it really gives me quite a flareup. I am also not diabetic, but I think even with that, it affects this condition. I hope this small tip might help you!

I believe it was the Lyme that caused it, but there is no “proof” of this, unfortunately. It was much worse before I treated the Lyme, so that’s a pretty good correlation I think.

It’s a comorbidity for me with dysautnomia/POTS. It comes and goes. Trying to figure out if some of it is related to muscle tension helps me. Driving makes it all worse. I take the gabapentin but it has never taken it away.

Has anyone experienced loss of fine motor skill function following pain and numbness from peripheral neuropathy?

Hi I also have Peripheral Neuropathy. Unfortunately mine has effected my entire body including some internal organs. Gabapentin was horrible for me. I was on 900mg a day and it caused me to have seizures. I am currently on the generic for Cymbalta. I have been using it almost 2 years now and it has helped me very much. I take 30mg in the morning and 60mg at bedtime. Unfortunately the Peripheral Neuropathy has caused me to develop a few other nerve diseases in my body.
