I have a horrible habit of picking my skin… pimples In particular. Usually they don’t start out as a pimple but more so as a tiny bump and turn into a large pimple or scab. I find myself continually picking at the same spots until it scars. I’m even on acutane but I feel like it doesn’t help anything because I just pick anyways. Sometimes I spend an hour picking at my face or back. I’m so frustrated… any suggestions?

I’ll tell you what i’ve been told: the more you pick, the more pimples will show up to pick. To reduce to amount of pimples, reducing your picking is important. I often have to change quickly or else i get “trapped” into picking at my skin. Its such a hard thing to stop.

I like to put tape on my skin where I normally pick, and then pick at the tape instead.

It's normal for pimples to do that and start out as a little bumb, that's the pore getting clogged and inflamed before it fills with puss. It's basically like a tiny infection lol. I do the same thing though. I know stress causes acne to spike. But I've recently been using this rose quartz and charcoal facial cleanser and I think it's been helping a lot. And then afterwards I use Dickinson's alcohol-free witch hazel (that has added rosewater). And then when I'm done I use a rose quartz facial roller to smooth everything out and just kinda massage my face. I haven't been breaking out as much and it doesn't dry my face out to the point where my skin is peeling like Proactiv did.
