Hello. I’m Buggsy. Does anybody else compulsively pop pimples? I have been doing this for so long and it’s ruined my whole face. I even got a staph infection and MRSCA because of the constant picking. Does anybody else struggle with this? Has anything helped?

I also got extraction tools and it's helped me a lot. It's hard when there's a spot I can't get though, but one thing that's helped with that is I'll remember spots that almost always have a lot of white/black heads and extracting those relieves the urge a bit for me.

Recently I got “professional” extraction tools and I’ve found that my skin gets a lot less damaged and irritated when I use them. Obviously this isn’t a way to stop picking, but at least for me it has limited the damage and infections I cause

I have this issue too, it’s very frustrating because I will find the smallest bump on my face and feel the need o try to pop/pick it. However I see someone mentioned pimple popping videos help them which is great, but it’s not always the best solution. I know for me those videos are actually a trigger and make me want to pick my face or try to find something to pick… so does anyone have any other ideas?

I used to but try and avoid it due to scarring. My skin picking is minor and relates to the tips of my fingers and toes and other areas
I agree with addilyn, keep up with good hygiene to prevent any complication. I would also meet a therapist for a CBT to stop this habit
yes! i’ve been doing it for years and it’s so hard to stop, if you are going to do it make sure you wash your hands really well, use a good face wash, and every time you catch yourself doing it try to stop, i know it’s really hard as i have OCD but i promise it’s possible. there’s these pimple popping video i watch that help me stop, watching someone else do it releases the urge a little bit:))
