I have BPD. I have fears of the darkness, monsters being under my bed or in my closet if the door isn't shut when sleeping, bad people chasing me if in my basement or outside alone, etc. I kind of thought all this was normal until I saw a video someone on YouTube did who has Schizophrenia did. She labeled them as delusions from her illness. I was just wondering if those of you with BPD have this? I also thought my hallucinations were normal until pointed out to me as not, so at this point I feel like anything is possible.

Update: I talked to my therapist about this and she said that she thinks it is actually just anxiety and intrusive thoughts caused by my OCD. She says my thoughts would be more rigid and she wouldn't be able to have a reasonable conversation with me about it if they were actual delusions.

So, I also am afraid of my closet and under my bed. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I don't tell anyone in my personal life this anymore because I'm almost 30. But, my closet for me absolutely must remain shut at all times. I'm convinced if it's open, I'll see something in there. I hate looking under my bed for the same reason and once it's night time, I hate having to get out of my bed because I'm afraid something will grab me. I also feel like once I go to sleep, something comes out from under my bed. So I never open my eyes, I don't want to see. But this is because I've heard strange noises in that area. I'm also convinced something is in my attic but, I have actually heard things up there crawling around and it would stop when I turned my light on. The weird part? I called maintenance to come check it out and there was no signs of droppings and the wires or insulation wasn't torn. No sign of life even a period after that. So it wasn't a squirrel, it wasn't a raccoon or bird or anything that could survive up there because they didn't find anything. But that's just me and my paranoid self. Nobody will believe me. Except my dad.

I usually see black spots that appear like crawling spiders, shadow figures, and people sitting in empty parked cars. At first I thought this was something wrong with my eyesight but it was happening only sometimes. It might be anxiety because I am scared of spiders and ppl trying to harm/chase me. I didnā€™t think hallucinations was a BPD thing and Iā€™m kinda embarrassed to ask my doctor about it so Iā€™m wondering too

That used to happen to me when I was little, not so much now. I have BPD as well. I still get scared of the dark too and have to close closets or windows because I felt like something would jump out of the dark or whatnot.

I get hallucinations and delusions quite frequently, I used to adamantly believe that moths were watching me and sending the information to people I didn't know. I've had this my whole life and I was diagnosed with EUPD (BPD) in 2020 after they changed the name. I often see things in the dark and hear my name being called. I'm currently attempting to see if my BPD has any alters as I have researched and seen that it is not uncommon for people with BPD to have alters or fragments of alters similar to DID, this is a rather scary experience and I've recently been waking up hearing myself having full conversations to people who aren't in the room with me.
