Why whenever I self-harm do I feel better and worse. Like I’m happy I did it but I like if anyone finds out they’ll be disappointed and won’t understand why I did it.

self harm releases endorphins which are feel-good chemicals in the brain. so you feel good because of the chemicals but because of social stigmas as well as not wanting to upset people who care about you that you also care about, you end up feeling horrible over it, and thus the cycle continues.
