So u have really bad depression. My dad died when I was 6 and I'm missing him. I tried talking to my boyfriend and he won't listen to me. He keeps saying I have no reason to be depressed. What can I do to help myself cope?

Does your bf have any health conditions? You could try explaining it like, an asthmatic has no reason not to be able to breathe, a diabetic has no reason to struggle with managing their sugar levels, etc... And depression is the same thing with brain chemicals.

I'm sorry for your loss. Mourning is one of the hardest things to do. Your feelings are relevant no matter what anyone says. I don't exactly have any solid advice but having a safe space to feel those emotions can really benefit you. That can look different for some people like; therapy, friends, practicing self love, or even hobbies. Take as long as you need! You are the only one that truly knows yourself best. I may not know you but I can tell you're a really strong person and I believe in you.❤️❤️

One suggestion for coping with the loss of your father and dealing with depression is to find activities or hobbies that you associate with positive memories of him, and engage in those activities either by yourself or with supportive friends. Additionally, consider seeking professional help, such as therapy, to work through your feelings and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Surround yourself with people who understand and support your emotions, and remember that it's okay to grieve and feel sadness.
