Struggling with Depression: Feeling Alone and Stuck

my depression is ruling over my life and i don't know what to do. i feel like nobody understands how bad it actually is, and it's been worse the past month or so. especially in the past five years, all i do is sit at home and constantly distract myself with youtube and stuff. i miss being a person and having a life. i only shower or eat when i absolutely need to, but i'm still very overweight from how sedentary i am. i hate this. i don't know what to do.

I suffer with the same feelings. Depression can be caused by many different things like hormonal imbalances or chemical toxicity. Only a doctor can diagnose the physical problem. I've learned how to cope with the mental difficulties through therapy. It's really hard to pull yourself out of it. You may feel absolutely stuck, but you can climb out of negative thought patterns. Depression doesn't have to be permanent, but for most of us it always comes back. So my best advice to create an action plan of countermeasures. Think opposite thoughts to prevent spiraling. Do at least 5 minutes of physical movment you enjoy. Do anything you're interested in like reading or self-care until you feel excited, inspired, or content again. Improve your sleep routine. Maintain contact with your support people even when it goes against all instincts. Expose yourself to 10 minutes of daylight every morning and evening. Read one positive affirmation every morning. Remind yourself you are resilient in hard times and there is hope for better days ahead. Those tactics have helped me keep my head above water. Best of luck to you.

Hello, I hope i am not overstepping here. I have found that when I start feeling super depressive symptoms frequently, its time to go back to the doctor and see about changing medications. 🤗 Medication has really helped me feel more like myself again.
