I don't to be honest, and my room and school binder and everything may be an absolute mess but I know where everything is, and that's fine

I'm starting college in a few months and I'm pretty stressed out about it. I'm very unorganized, I've tried getting binders, labels, a planner, etc you know? The works. But I still get so unorganized and I need to get myself together! Time is moving so fast.

What helps me is to just take a deep breath, don't look at the big picture because it'll overwhelm you. Start on one small area and start sorting a pile of what you need and don't. Put stuff you keep away. If you have no place to put them, keep them in the pile and continue cleaning until you have somewhere to put them. Listening to video game music can help concentration and trigger hyperfocus. It works for me and is scientifically proven. Or if you want music with lyrics listen to music with a foreign language so you're concentrating on what you're doing instead rather than lyrics. I have plenty of foreign songs I can recommend if you want. Also the soundtrack I used was the Halo soundtrack 👌

It also helps me to just start with the trash and stuff to get rid of

If you think of something, write it down on a scrap of paper so you can stop thinking about it. Start with gathering garbage and wash a load of laundry when cleaning so while the clothes wash, you do other things. Get things in the right rooms, then put them away. Lists are your friends! Just keep them in your pocket 👍

    WRITING THINGS DOWN

Huge game changer. Put sticky notes on your computer/phone, so you have to read them before using. Whenever you think of something to do that you don’t want to do right now, write it down. I love lists

I pretty much start a new list for every day. I put chores, appointments, and even fun things I want to do on it. There’s no time or schedule attached, and if I don’t get something done, I put it on my new list tomorrow

Crossing the whole list off is rare, but godamn it’s satisfying

On account of having undiagnosed ocd I'm always organized but it helps to have a schedule with free time for relaxation hours and days to yourself to get rid of stress.

Not meant to be a plug but tiimo is a great app. It allows you to break down tasks like add clean room to the list and then break it down to clean the floor, pick up desk, throw trash, etc. It al's allows you to add recurring daily/weekly/monthly goals and if you don't finish a task it allows you to move it to another day. It is really helpful. And makes me more organized while also feeling like I'm accomplishing something when I can cross of multiple things off of one task. Good luck to ya!
