is there a way to make self harm scars stay longer?? I want them to last longer because If I cant see them or if they fade enough I just cut myself some more to make new ones. I know this isnt healthy but Its the only think that will work for me. I'll try to find something healthier but in the mean time this is the only thing that helps.

Like ripping up paper helps me not cut myself, but I feel you on the scars part it’s like hard to describe. But yeah the paper, or just blasting your fav songs, even talking to a friend could help. I’ve been self harming since a young age and it’s a hard habit to stop, I mean it’s similar to an addiction to do it but it’s never a solution. There’s always risk of infection, it not healing correctly and it can cause major risk. I advise you to seek help but if you’re unable you can always message me

@Cherrycola I used to cut paper as small as I could and keep them in a jar. So yeah I second this

I've been in the same boat so I completely understand where your coming from. Medicine has been so good in stopping it for me but if you really have no other option at the moment scratching them has prevented me from doing more and taking a bath when I was in that headspace worked too. The scars may be permanent tho so just keep that in mind cause my thighs are covered in lines years after stopping. I really hope you get help.

Just wanna say I've been there. Some good ways to mitigate harm are to draw on yourself like someone else said or to use a rubber band to slap yourself wherever it is you prefer. As far as a scarring goes, hydrogen peroxide makes wounds more likely to scar by killing off some of the local tissue (it also will mitigate chances for infection) Please remember that you are loved and you deserve love. Cutting yourself is very mean to yourself and you don't deserve it <3

Try replacing cutting with drawing on yourself, you could even use the urge to learn to do realistic movie makeup of scars and such if you have the financial ability. The main thing that kept me cutting was seeing the scarring or the blood so I turned to using it as an artistic outlet that occupies me and still leaves a mark.

Please find a Terapy. And think that the scars in your heart will likely take a long time to disappear no matter how it looks like externally. ☹️
