I've been going to therapy, and I don't know if it helping because I still continuesly cutting myself.

Unfortunately therapy takes awhile to start working. The best advice I can give you to help stop the habit of cutting yourself is to make a little reward sheet. Find something you want. Whatever you want. Toy, book, food, tattoo, something you can hold or see. I suggest you make it $20 or more. Put the object and the price on a sheet of paper and every day you don't cut yourself add a tally mark. No punishment if you do. You just don't get a tally mark that day. Once you have enough tally marks that it equals the dollar amount. Go buy/ get that item. And keep doing it. Bonus points if you increase the dollar amount. You'll notice that you won't want to cut because you want your thing.

I don’t know if this is helpful but whenever I feel like self harming I try to listen to music but with noise canceling headphones or any headphones that are just loud enough to surround myself in the noise. I do this so that I can zone out my inner thoughts. It usually works for me. I have a really hard time being alone with my thoughts so I usually do that or watch something I find funny on YouTube.
i understand that stopping self-harm isn't easy. there's something that caused you to start, and taking away the unhealthy coping mechanism means you need a healthy one in its place. i really recommend that you talk to your therapist about your self-harm, but if you don't feel comfortable with that yet for some reason, talking about the feelings that cause your self-harm will also help a lot. whenever you do feel like you're in a place to try to stop, there are plenty of self-harm alternatives out there like holding ice to ground yourself, taking a cold shower, drawing on your skin, taking a walk, etc. there are lots of ideas all over the internet if you look it up. best of luck on your journey :)
@sandboxjoints I have told her about it multiple times and yes she has mentioned holding ice against your skin as one but I really hate being cold so it's not for me, and I love drawing on myself that helps a lot. Thank you for caring <3.

Did you tell your therapist that you cut yourself? Maybe you can talk about why you do....
@Gwen71 yes I do and she knows about it very well, she gives me suggestions but I never seem to try them. Or I do and then It fails and I relapse
