My anxiety makes it difficult to be productive. Especially when it comes to school. I get so anxious thinking about upcoming tests. Any tips for anxiety management?

Nothing fancy, but I've been trying to keep my head down and just put one foot in front of the other. If I look too far ahead, it becomes so overwhelming. I make a plan - almost like charting a journey through a dangerous jungle - then I can follow that through the scariness. No need to keep looking up and around and getting overwhelmed by the snakes and spiders (deadlines and fear of failure), I can keep my head down and follow my map. It takes a fair bit of self-trust and if someone or something disrupts your map, you have to revisit the scary to adjust, but by and large it seems to work for me

honestly, i don’t know if this would help anyone else, but because i’m meticulous, for tests, i usually recite small questions in my head, especially for anatomy, i make a mental picture and point to different things (physically, like the picture is in front of me) and say what they are. if you have an interest in something, doing the same thing but with that thing (like motorcycles, cars, even characters from a show) naming traits can help a little

You mean besides smoking? Deep breathing helps me. Depending on the source of the anxiety, affirmations like “I am competent” really help me. Anything that reconnects you to your body.
