I'm Charla. I'm new to app and desperately trying to find someone to guide me through my recent diagnosis which is deceased kidney function over the last year. idk what to do. if I can reverse it. she said the Mediterranean diet would help. that sounds terrible. I've lost 82 pounds and nothing is improving. my oxygen level keeps dropping and terrible back and abdomen pain. sorry I had to vent.

Depending on what stage you are I would recommend getting a renal dietitian to look at your blood work and guide you on food choices

sadly usually you cannot reverse what damage is already done, maybe by a little bit but not by much. your dr is right though, diet really is most of the treatment when your kidneys are failing. depending on what stage you are you might not need to change anything at all! and i agree about seeking out a dietician to help. feel free to message me, i’ve been through dialysis and transplant!

I'm at stage 3 CKD. My doctors didn't give me much information. Everything that I know, I reached on the internet. I would love to talk to to others.
